The Fear Free Approach We understand that surgery can be a stressful time for both you and your pet. As a Fear Free Certified Practice we do everything we can to make the process as comfortable as possible. The process starts at home where we have you administer several oral medications to your pet ahead of surgery. These medications help control anesthesia induced nausea, start pain control and help alleviate anxiety that so many pets suffer from when left at the clinic for the day. We welcome pet parents to send a favorite toy or item that smells like home to provide comfort to their pet for the day. Your pet will get multiple walks outside while in our care, we will make sure they get a meal after surgery and, of course, plenty of love! We also want you, the pet parent, to feel at ease on this day. We will be sure to keep you updated throughout the day by sending a text when we start surgery and another when your pet is in recovery! Anesthesia Safety Many pet parents worry about the safety of their pet during surgery or anesthesia. Our highly skilled veterinarians tailor the anesthetic protocol to each patient’s needs to ensure patient safety. Although no anesthetic procedure is without risk, we do everything possible to ensure your pet’s safety during anesthesia and after. Each surgical patient has a dedicated veterinary technician monitoring their vitals throughout the entire procedure, as well as in recovery. The staff use state of the art anesthesia monitoring equipment to monitor the patient's heart rate, breathing rate, oxygen saturation, EKG, blood pressure, temperature and more! Every patient will get an IV catheter and IV fluids during surgery as well. This helps maintain blood pressure and keep the patient hydrated. It also allows for quick access to a vein in the rare event an emergency occurs during anesthesia. Rest assured, your pet will be well taken care of during their procedure. Pain Control Many pets experience fear when at the vet clinic and pain can certainly contribute to this. It is our top priority to make sure your pet is comfortable before, during, and after their procedure. By using a combination of various pain medications and local anesthetics or block, we are able to ensure your pet will go home comfortable and with minimal to no pain. If at any time, you feel your pet is uncomfortable or painful, please let us know so we can help. If you are considering surgery for your pet, please call us today to schedule a consultation. We will be happy to answer any questions you have and help you make the best decision for your pet. Schedule Appointment Call Now Pyometra & Foreign Body Surgery Pyometra:
Pyometra is a serious infection of the uterus that can affect unspayed female dogs and cats, often a few weeks after a heat cycle. It's treated with surgery, and the sooner it's addressed, the smoother the recovery tends to be. If your pet has been diagnosed with pyometra, our surgical team can take care of it right here in Summerville. We'll walk you through what the surgery involves, what it costs before we begin, and the financing options available to you.

Foreign body (swallowed object):
Dogs and cats are curious, and sometimes they swallow something they shouldn't — a toy, a sock, part of a bone. When an object gets stuck, it can block the digestive tract and needs to be removed surgically. If your pet has been diagnosed with a foreign body or blockage and you're weighing your options, we can help — with upfront pricing and a team that will talk you through the plan.

Already been somewhere else and gotten a quote? We're glad to give you a second opinion. Call us or book online and we'll take it from there.

Schedule Appointment Call Now Surgical Second Opinions Surgery is a big decision, and wanting a second opinion is completely reasonable — especially if you've just been handed a quote somewhere else. We'll review your pet's diagnosis with you, explain the options in plain language, and walk through pricing and financing. No pressure and no judgment, just clear information so you can decide what's right for your pet and your family. Bring in what you have and we'll take a look together. Upfront Pricing & Financing We think you should know what to expect before surgery, not after — so we go over pricing with you up front. And because cost shouldn't stand between your pet and the care they need, we offer CareCredit and Cherry financing to spread payments over time. If you have questions about what something costs or how financing works, just ask. (Please include the CareCredit and Cherry logos/links here.) After surgery, your pet will need to stay at the clinic for observation. We will monitor your pet closely and provide them with the care they need to recover.

When you pick up your pet, we will give you detailed instructions on how to care for them at home. These instructions will include information on pain management, diet, and activity level.

Please do not hesitate to contact us if you have any questions or concerns about your pet's recovery.

We are committed to providing your pet with the highest quality of care possible. Contact us today to schedule a consultation and learn more about our surgical services.
